Carers Centre Newcastle is a voluntary and community sector organisation working citywide to provide dedicated support and information. Our services are available for any carer who lives in Newcastle or who cares for someone living in Newcastle. Support is also available for former carers who have received our services whilst being a carer. As well as being an information and support service for carers, Carers Centre Newcastle works with local organisations to develop better support services for carers and recognition of their important role.
We also work to help carers support each other and to give carers a voice, for example, through participation in consultation events. The Princess Royal Trust for Carers, the UK'S largest provider of carers support services, carries out research and development and works to influence national, regional and local policies to improve the lives of carers. As a member of this network, Carers Centre Newcastle represents the needs of carers in the city and raises their concerns and issues nationally. We are also a member of Newcastle Healthy City whose aim is to promote the health issues of Newcastle citizens and works to reduce the inequalities in health in the city.
